Learn about the types of temporary and non-immigrant visas in the United States.
Temporary and non-immigrant visas are intended to provide tourists, students, investors, and more, the possibility of visiting the United States for a specified period of time and then returning to their country of origin.

According to the Immigration Nationality Law there are different categories of non-immigrant visas:
- Visas for visitors for business or pleasure trips: Focused on tourist and business activities.
- Visas for students and exchange visitors: They are given to foreign participants of academic and cultural exchange programs. They are processed through an application at the US consulate or embassy in the country where the interested party resides.
- Visas for temporary workers: Oriented towards people with skills or knowledge who meet the requirements to practice their profession in the United States temporarily. The employer is in charge of filing the application with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
