The Department of State presented the document with the instructions to participate in the Diversity Immigrant Visa Program or Diversity Visa Program of the year 2023 (DV-2023).
Every year between October and November, the State Department opens the possibility to foreigners to participate in the diversity visa lottery. This year corresponds to fiscal year 2023.
However, citizens of countries such as Brazil, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico or Venezuela will not be able to participate in DV-2023, since the United States has received more than 50 thousand migrants from these countries in the last five years. .
The first requirement to be eligible for the visa program is to belong to a country with low rates of migration to the United States. However, married people can select the nationality of the couple that belongs to a country with low migration to the United States.
Another requirement is to have completed at least high school or the equivalent in your country to 12 years of formal education. Or you are eligible because you have at least two years of work experience in an occupation that requires a minimum of two years of training.
The registration dates have not yet been announced, however, last year the registration period was opened from October 7 to November 10.
