The eGov platform of the Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) allows you to check the status of immigration cases such as applications, petitions and petitions online.
People with pending immigration proceedings can access the USCIS online case status platform. For this, it is necessary to have at hand the unique case number that consists of 13 characters, three letters such as: EAC, WAC, LIN, SRC, NBC, MSC or IOE; and ten numbers

Also known as a receipt number, it is a unique 13-character identifier that USCIS assigns to each application and petition, which is also key to identifying and tracking each case. The first three characters of this number are letters that signify the type of application, petition, or request.
You can consult the USCIS tool at the following link: https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/ landing.do. When entering your number, skip the use of hyphens “-“. You can include asterisks “*”, in case they are part of your receipt number.
After entering your data, the platform will show the next steps to follow in your process or only its status.
To follow up on your case, another option offered by USCIS is to open an account: https://my.uscis.gov/authenticate/saml/sign_up.
By having an account, you can choose to receive updates about your case directly to your email. These alerts or notifications can be configured to receive them in English, it can also provide updated information on changes in processes with USCIS, for example, on Deferred Action (DACA).
