The United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) announced that H-1B applications for fiscal year 2023 will be received at the California Service Center (CSC).
In order to streamline processing and reduce workload, certain FY 2023 H-1B petitions, which would be received at the USCIS Vermont Service Center, will now be transferred to the CSC. In this way, the petitions filed must be issued to the same addresses provided by the USCIS previously.
USCIS explains that in this way it will be possible to reduce the workload and issue receipt notices for correctly filed H-1B petitions. Therefore, the agency asks applicants to avoid submitting duplicate petitions.
Transferred requests will not receive a notification for this, but instead will receive a receipt notification as they normally would. Upon transfer of requests, the CSC may process them and determine their approval.
Following the pandemic, USCIS was affected in the processing of hundreds of thousands of applications, so in recent months they have actively worked on implementing various strategies to avoid further delays in processing.
The current addresses for submitting the I-129 forms required for H-1B visas are:
- Through the United States Postal Service (USPS): USCIS California Service Center Attn: I-129 H-1B Regular Cap P.O. Box 10130 Laguna Niguel, CA 92607-1012.
- Via FedEx, UPS, and DHL: USCIS California Service Center Attn: I-129 H-1B Regular Cap 24000 Avila Road 1st Floor, Room 1600 Laguna Niguel, CA 92677.
