Use the Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) tool to review updates to your immigration application, petition, or application.
The USCIS is the government department in charge of reviewing and carrying out any type of procedure or petition related to immigration. Legal immigrants must complete their procedures through USCIS, as well as permanent residents, US citizens, among others.
In our section Legal Guidance, specifically in the subsection Matters with the immigration authority You will find the phone number to contact USCIS and find out the status of your application or application. In the same section you will find other resources such as free or low-cost lawyers or advice on Deferred Action (DACA).
On the other hand, the USCIS also has an online tool to know the status of the immigration case. You can check it at the following link: https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do.
To know your status you must enter your receipt number, an identifier that USCIS provided you, it has 13 characters and is unique for each case. Three of the characters are letters, and can be any of the following combinations EAC, WAC, LIN, SRC, NBC, MSC, or IOE, followed by ten numeric characters. When entering your number, omit the dashes (-).
