What services can you request if you live as a migrant in the United States?

The National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC) offers various legal services for immigrants in the United States.

The NIJC is an organization dedicated to protecting human rights and access to justice for immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers. In the United States, they offer legal advice for families in various situations such as legal assistance at work, legal assistance for family reunification, naturalization, temporary protected status, among others. 

Los inmigrantes en Estados Unidos, tienen la posibilidad de obtener asesoría legal a través de esta organización. Por ejemplo, para personas que apliquen dentro de la política migratoria Acción Diferida para los Llegados en la Infancia (DACA), pueden obtener asesoría legal ya se para realiza runa aplicación para renovarla.

The NIJC also provides legal assistance to immigrants who qualify for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) visas, depending on their country of origin.

The NIJC Immigrant Legal Defense Project provides deportation assistance to:

  • Young immigrants who qualify for deferred action and need work authorization
  • Immigrants in the process of applying for permanent residence for family reunification.
  • Permanent residents who are applying for citizenship.
  • Immigrants who have been victims of domestic or criminal violence and seek protection in the United States.
  • Victims of international human trafficking.
  • Immigrants who are applying to the Temporary Protection Status or to the Nicaraguan Adjustment and Aid to Central America Law (NACARA)
