If you are Mexican or Mexican and have children born in the United States, your children also have rights in Mexico. It is very important to keep this in mind and let your children know that they are part of a society that supports them, even living abroad.
With the firm intention of keeping migrant parents with U.S. children informed, the Institute for Women in Migration (IMUMI), created a guide to help migrant families with children born in the United States to obtain Mexican citizenship.
For this process, the Mexican consulates in the United States will request an extensive list of documentation.
