President Joe Biden asked Congress to pass the American Dream and Promise Act this year to benefit millions of immigrants.
President Joe Biden called on the Senate and House of Representatives to pass the law that would benefit millions of undocumented immigrants. "Congress needs to pass legislation this year to finally guarantee protection to our dreamers, the young people who know this country as home."
The president also demanded legislation in favor of immigrants who have come to the United States under Temporary Protected Status. “Give permanent protection to immigrants who come to the United States from other countries, under a temporary employment agreement; they flee from violence and the effects of natural disasters, ”he explained.
Biden also recognized the work done by immigrants during the pandemic and throughout American history. "The country supports immigration reform and Congress must act accordingly," he said.
So far the immigration reform promoted by the current administration has been approved in the House of Representatives. President Biden hopes that this year it will be approved in the Senate.
