President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris participated in the annual summit of the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO).
In the speech that Kamala Harris prepared for the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO) conference, which was held virtually, she highlighted as priorities of her administration to offer a path to citizenship to dreamers and beneficiaries of DACA and the commitment to protect the vote of minorities.

The Latino vote won by Joe Biden in the November presidential election was the highest in the last 40 years. "These issues are priorities for me and for our government." Harris explained the three priorities that will benefit the Latino community in the United States in his administration: "provide access to capital for small business owners, achieve a path to citizenship for immigrants and protect the right to vote," explained Vice President Harris .
In his intervention, President Joe Biden explained that Latino families that will benefit from the American Rescue Plan are necessary to achieve equality.
On the other hand, the senator for California, Alex Padilla highlighted the work done by undocumented Latino immigrants during the pandemic, in which many Latinos “could not simply do their work remotely. Essential Latino workers risk their lives and those of their families every day to help our nation emerge from the pandemic, ”he said.
In addition, he called for compensating undocumented residents in the country by providing a path to citizenship. “A just recovery means reform for immigrants. Dreamers, TPS (Temporary Protected Status) workers, farmers and all undocumented workers have sacrificed so much to help this country overcome the pandemic, "Senator Padilla explained in his speech.
