The UNAM-Boston Center for Mexican Studies has favored the professional growth of academics and students who spend time in the United States.
The UNAM-Boston Study Center was established in the capital of the state of Massachusetts in October 2018, being one of the three representations of the most recently created Highest House of Studies. This representation of UNAM is located on the campus of the University of Massachusetts.
Almost four years after its creation, UNAM-Boston has promoted academic and cultural projects with other American universities such as Harvard, Yale, MIT, New England Law School, Berklee College of Music, among others.
Thanks to the programs offered by this study center, students from Mexico have been able to access scholarships and exchange programs at UNAM-Boston. Renata Gatica, current collaborator of the representation and former intern, explained that exchange experiences favor personal and professional growth by living with people not only from the United States, but also from other nationalities.
Gatica graduated from the Faculty of Higher Studies (FES) Cuautitlán, and in 2019 she did her internship at UNAM-Boston, which helped her discover new academic and professional interests, in what I consider an experience that should be mandatory.
Currently, the UNAM representation in Boston is promoting the Puma Winter 2023, an annual program like the Puma Summer, which seeks education in English, as well as promoting cultural content and New England history. The three-week program begins on January 9 and ends on January 26, 2023. Learn more http://www.boston.unam.mx/invierno-puma-2023.
