The PepsiCo Cesar Chavez Latino Scholarship is a special scholarship for students of Latino origin from educational institutions in Arizona and California.
The PepsiCo Cesar Chavez scholarship provides the opportunity for students of Latino origin to continue their university studies. The scholarship is awarded an annual amount of USD 5,000 to ten students of higher education, of Latino origin, regardless of their immigration status and who belong to universities or colleges in Arizona and California.
To apply for this scholarship, students must belong to a university in one of the two states mentioned or be about to enter. In addition, to provide a greater opportunity for the Latino community, those students who access the scholarship do not have the opportunity to renew or reapply.
The scholarship is only available to Latino students who live in Arizona or California and are citizens, permanent residents, DACA recipients, undocumented, or Dreamers. The scholarship has been awarded since 2018 and will continue to be delivered until 2022.
In addition to the aforementioned, the eligibility requirements are as follows:
- The student must demonstrate: academic excellence, leadership in extracurricular activities, commitment to volunteer service in the community, and financial need.
- The student must be an incoming college student or continuing full-time at any educational institution for the current academic year.
- The student must be registered full time.
- The student must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Members of the applicant's immediate family are not eligible for the award within 12 calendar months (eg, siblings, parents, or children).
Regarding the required information, students must submit the following documents:
- A 500-word essay exemplifying your goals in life, expressing your stance on serving society.
- Two letters of recommendation written by a teacher from your educational institution and by a community leader where the student has volunteered.
- Academic record.
- Currículum vitae,
- A copy of the Student Aid Report (SAR).
- A copy of the first two pages of your recent IRS Form 1040 or from your parents if you are financially dependent on them.
- If you have not submitted such a form, it will be replaced by a copy of your most recent W-2 forms.
The deadline to apply is May 31, 2022 and selected students will be announced on July 20, 2022.
