ICE Case Review: Tool to Identify Whether an ICE Detainment or Deportation is Legal or Not

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement Service (ICE) announced in March this year the creation of the ICE Case Review (ICR), to review individual processes for possible irregularities in arrests.

The Enforcement and Removal Operations Office (ERO) introduced the ICR in March, which aims to review the cases of individuals who believe their case does not align with ICE's detention and deportation priorities. And it also promotes the creation of an orderly immigration system that respects the integrity of the people while ensuring national security.

"ICE remains dedicated to providing multiple lines of communication for non-citizens, or their representatives, to discuss individual cases," ICE Director Tae D. Johnson explained in the ICR announcement last March.

The case review allows representatives of non-citizens to request an additional review of how the events occurred, which could prove that ICE did not comply with the priorities of deportation and detention.

The ERO seeks transparency in cases of detention and deportation and thus resolve the concerns of those affected. To request a review it is necessary for the person concerned to contact the local ERO office. Check here the information about the local offices:v http://www.ice.gov/contact/ero).

Subsequently, the interested party can send a process request to the following email: ICEcasereview@ice.dhs.gov.
