The Asylum Seeker Support Project (ASAP) provides information to people seeking or seeking asylum in the United States.
The goal of ASAP is that the resources available on its website can help applicants understand and facilitate their process. However, their advice is not a substitute for a lawyer specialized in immigration.
In fact, the first tool they present on their website is "Get Help“, Where you will find a compilation of resources to find a lawyer, legal services, lists of lawyers and organizations.
In addition, the platform has videos with advice and tips for asylum seekers who will be presented before the immigration court. You can find them on their YouTube channel: The process for applying for asylum (Content in Spanish)
However, one of the most useful and easy to disseminate content available on the ASAP site is the informational flyers. They show information on specific topics for asylum seekers such as: Finding a lawyer, how to find out the status of your case, how to file an application with the Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), advice on immigration hearings, what to do in case of missing the court appointment, or finally know the process in case the asylum application is approved, among other information.
