In our Legal Orientation section you can obtain information about appointments at the offices of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
In the section Legal Guidance you will find Matters with the immigration authority , in which you can find the telephone number to establish direct contact with the USCIS offices that are currently open to immigration procedures and applications.
In the following link you can check which are the offices that to date are still closed or those that have modified their opening hours: https://www.uscis.gov/es/estatus-de-nuestras-oficinas. It does not matter when you make the inquiry since the information is updated daily by the USCIS.
In My USCIS You can check the status of your appointment, make changes or cancel it. To do this, you only need to enter your confirmation number and your PIN. Similarly, if you want to reprint the confirmation document of your appointment, you can do it on the same platform by entering your name, surname and date of birth.
To know the status of your case online, you can use the USCIS monitoring tool, writing your receipt number consisting of 13 digits (three letters and ten numbers).
Remember that when you go to your appointment you must take into account the indications about social distancing and wear your mask. Do not report to USCIS facilities if: you have symptoms of COVID-19; you have had close contact with a positive case of COVID-19 in the last 14 days; or you have taken a domestic or international flight in the last 10 days.
If you need to reschedule your appointment with a local office, you must call the USCIS Contact Center at 800-375-5283.
During the pandemic the USCIS continued to process all applications, but there may be delays in appointments for asylum, residency or citizenship. Therefore, it is important that you are aware of your appointment or its rescheduling, using the aforementioned telephone number, as well as to clarify any doubts. If you want to apply, you have to do it as soon as possible.
The best thing is to have a lawyer. If you want to contact someone, in this same section of Acceso Latino they are available, both free or low cost. They will be very aware as they receive notifications and will notify you of any changes. Remember that if you miss your appointment they will deny your case.
