The cost of a family reunification program depends on where the stakeholders are located and the types of programs their entities offer.
Various states in Mexico offer support and counseling programs for family reunification. These programs provide information and care to older adults seeking to apply for a US visa to visit their immigrant children in the United States.

The cost of these programs can vary depending on where the interested persons are located. However, the cost of the services and advice for filling out the DS-160 application form necessary to obtain a visa, as well as the scheduling of the appointment, are free.
One of the fees that interested relatives have to cover is the presentation of the DS-160 form, which has a cost of 160 dollars.
On the other hand, the appointment is usually made at the United States Embassy in Mexico City or in the city of Monterrey. For example, some state programs such as “Corazón de Plata” in Zacatecas cover transportation to Monterrey as part of their benefits.
The total cost of all procedures may increase if the applicant for this support does not have a valid Mexican passport, in these cases they must process it at the offices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in their locality. The Mexican passport has costs of 1,470 pesos valid for three years; 2,000 pesos valid for 6 years; and 3,505 valid for ten years.
These programs do not cover any air travel to the United States, these costs must be covered by the applicants.
These types of programs have a maximum response time of one month. Learn more about these programs on the websites of the Secretary of Government of your state, or in Migrant Institutions also at the state level.
