TN visas allow foreign professionals to work in the United States
The Ministry of Education and Sports (SEyD) of the state of Chihuahua formed a link with the binational company Chihuahua-Texas Inc. and state educational institutions to promote the hiring of recently graduated professionals. Chihuahua-Texas has facilities in Midland and El Paso, both cities in Texas, and in Ciudad Juárez in the state of Chihuahua. This company specializes in the recruitment of personnel to work in various sectors such as industrial, commercial, educational, sports and cultural.
Since June, the government of Chihuahua met with the recruitment company to establish a binational agreement that would benefit students who graduated from educational institutions in the state.
The objective of the agreement is to offer employment to professionals from Chihuahua in the United States and facilitate their access to TN visas. In this sense, the purpose of the program is to offer employment opportunities in the following productive sectors: agriculture, dairy, commercial, veterinary medicine and zootechnics, engineering for the oil industry and construction, as well as nursing, teaching and accounting.
The SEyD will receive the profiles, requirements and positions required by the recruiting company to facilitate the process and establish a link with more students. “The Ministry of Education will support us in recruiting for companies in the United States and once the first part of the process has been completed, it begins with the application for a work visa,” explained Fernando De la Rosa, representative of Chihuahua-Texas. In addition, he added that in the United States there is a great demand for professionals in engineering areas.
De la Rosa explained that this type of agreement has favored the export of engineering, veterinary, mechanical and architectural professionals from public universities in Chihuahua, Sonora, Sinaloa and Tamaulipas.
