The United We Dream organization invites you to a webinar on the rights of immigrants in the United States in the face of anti-immigration policies.
The United States is recently facing policies and lawsuits that affect the migrant community across the country. Uncertainty about DACA and the court order challenging it currently or more recently Florida's anti-immigrant law SB 1718 that went into effect on July 1. However, there are organizations that continue to fight for the rights of communities and generate resources to keep migrants informed and protected.
For example, United We Dream, the largest youth-led immigrant organization in the United States, with more than a million members nationwide, offers venues for youth regardless of their immigration status.
After the implementation of the law against immigrants in Florida, United We Dream seeks to provide resources to undocumented people about their constitutional rights. This organization has a Deportation Defense team, which is organizing a space to help immigrants create a plan and learn about their rights in the face of policies such as SB 1718, not only in Florida but throughout the country.
On July 25 United We Dream will hold the webinar “Know Your Power: Florida & Beyond”, cuyo objetivo es ofrecer información a la comunidad para vivir con seguridad, dignidad y sin amenazas de detención o deportación por parte de las autoridades, en específico en el contexto de Florida, donde la nueva ley juega en contra de las libertades de los migrantes.
The webinar will take place on July 25 at 5 PM ET and you can register at the following link: https://actionnetwork.org/events/know-your-power-florida-and-beyond/
