The Dream.US is the nation's largest scholarship program for undocumented students, recently introducing scholarships to nearly 1,300 new recipients. \n<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In early August, TheDream.US organization held an event to welcome the new recipients of the scholarship. In this sense, this for the 2022-2023 academic cycle, TheDream.US awarded 1,289 scholarships to undocumented students who will attend the more than 70 colleges and universities that are part of the agreement in 19 states and Washington DC.<\/p>

Of the total scholarships, 1,199 will be awarded as part of the National Scholarship, which gives immigrants the opportunity to study at university in the state where they live, and the remaining 90 scholarships will be awarded through the Opportunity Scholarship, which offers support to students undocumented immigrants who cannot access state tuition.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

For this academic cycle, the organization seeks to strengthen support for the new generation of scholars who do not have a Deferred Action for Childhood Legacies or DACA permit, due to situations that have prevented the application of new applications. TheDream.US reported that only 17% of new scholars reported having an active DACA permit.<\/p>

\u201cDespite the obstacles that stand in their way and the uncertain future of the DACA program, our new generation of TheDream.US Scholars reminds us that young immigrants are committed to pursuing higher education and strengthening their own futures. Each of our fellows explains why it is so important to the future of this country to expand opportunities for Dreamers and finally deliver long-awaited legislation in Congress,\u201d explained Gaby Pacheco, Director of Advocacy, Development and Communications at TheDream.US<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Likewise, the organization shared relevant statistics on the scholarship recipients of this new academic year. For example, the average age of arrival in the United States of beneficiary students is 5 years for National beneficiaries and 3 years for Opportunity beneficiaries.<\/p>

Additionally, 81% and 93% of National and Opportunity recipients, respectively, are the first member of their family to attend college. In the same way, they informed about the origin of the students, in this way the National scholarship will benefit young people from 64 different countries and the Opportunity scholarship to dreamers from 10 countries.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
